Ed Roden was the favored son on the Roden ranch, and his murder provoked his father to seek vigilante justice.
Story[]
Ed Roden, Jr. was a man's man, at least in the eyes of his father. He was an accomplished rider and cowboy.
His father obviously favored Ed over his other son Dan, which led to bad blood between the brothers. That bad blood boiled over when Ed was killed by the jealous Dan. Dan then framed rustler Pop Keith for the murder.
Ed Sr. was so enraged by his son's death he led a mob to hang Keith and was willing to kill the local marshal and his deputies to get his own version of justice.
